New Osaka Street Lamps Lit by LUXEON® Power LEDs(2009-03-03)
SAN JOSE, Calif. & OSAKA, Japan--Philips Lumileds today announced the installation of the first street lights using LUXEON power LEDs in Osaka Prefecture in Japan, reflecting the emergence of solid-state lighting as an energy-efficient alternative to street lamps using standard light sources. Philips Lumileds’ announced today that test data for its LUXEON Rebel LEDs shows performance that exceeds ENERGY STAR® guidelines intended to ensure quality solid-state luminaire development. The data shows that LUXEON Rebel LEDs have average lumen maintenance of 99% after 6,000 hours, far surpassing the 91.8% ENERGY STAR requirements for residential fixtures as well as available published data for other power LEDs.... <more>
